Thanks

I just wanted to let you know how much I admire the art and animation in this compilation movie. Some of it was breathtakingly beautiful and some of it was stylishly sketched.

Any chance on you actually completing one of your projects now? I'd love to see a final work of your hand.

LaserKarl responds:

Thanks!

I might start somethiung new big sometime soon, maybe i'll force myself to finnish it. Only time will tell :)

Very sleek animation and nice art

It was nice eye-candy, I adored the art and how sleek all the characters were animated, and I loved the choices in [soothing] colours.

The voices were well done and there were some funny bits in it, but the one thing that did kind of lower my enthusiasm was that I didn't really get what the plot was. It could just be my own fault, but overall, this movie was pretty good, hence the high scores I gave it in this review and as a vote.

Ranoka responds:

Glad you noticed the colours I chose, I put special consideration into that. Thanks for the kind words on the art and animation. Sleek :D
Sorry, there wasn't really a lot of plot, I was just introducing a few of the main characters. I'm spending more time on the script for the second one so hopefully you won't feel so lost.

Pretty unclear

There was nothing wrong with the presentation of the movie (the graphics and animation), but the lack of a clear plot (even after reading the Author's comments) makes one think: "What is going on here??".

I think that if / when you make part two to this, you should spend as much time thinking the story through - and how to translate the story to the audience properly - as you spent on animating this movie, because that is the movie's strongest point.

Good luck.

it seems everyone has a problem with the story mate :( if i make a next realese then ill be sure to make it better, probaly with proper speech :)

Very entertaining

Sometimes, long animations can get tedious. This one didn't, which means it's good.

There was an actual story present, which I liked, and it had some nice humorous cut-scenes (especially the ones with Arnie were funny). I also enjoyed the animation, the 'special' moves were thought-up well and exectued equally well.

Thanks for the movie!

Pretty good graphics

But try not to loose your senseof reality, some of those tricks aren't real, this isnt THPS! I'm not saying this movie sucks, it's very cool, but that was pretty much the only con...

SamGreen responds:

Ahh... this movie isn't ment to be THPS I was inspiered by it thats all! thank you for the review.

I really enjoyed this one!

It was really funny to see how that fat kid kept copying Mike, and then Mike lied about taking pills and washing liquid so that the fatso would do that too, and it killed him! I really like this movie!

P.S. I watched it after seeing "my favourite reviews" and I watched some of the question marks ones... What's the deal with those? Did you replace other movies of yours with those or something? Because one of them is around the 3.50 mark, after thousands of votes!!

jim-ether responds:

yep . i replaced them all with fun question marks ! they are gay gay gay gay gay gay gay ! oh yeah ! and theyre GAY !

At least this was better than the other one

Because this one actually uses some good ActionScript...
But you could make the preloader a bit smaller in file size, by attaching script to it instead of making a 100 frame tween...
//actionscript
perc ent = Math.floor((_root.getBytesLoad ed() / _root.getBytesTotal()) * 100);
//now you have the variable [percent]
/here's the script to make the bar expand w script
_root.loadbar._xscale = percent;
// and top it off with text w percentage
_root.txtload = percent + "% loaded";
------------------- -------

This is only a suggestion, as it seems more professional than a motion tween ;)

Frank2982 responds:

If you were to use that, you would have to change the color fill into a MC instead of just a graphic. Then you would have to make the alignment for the MC to be on the left. Besides, I think Tweening is fun.

YTown Public rules!!

It sucks that you have to stop making them for a while, because you have to go to England, but you'll make more eventually won't you?
The trivia was really hard this time, it took me quite a few tries to beat! This was the best [season] finale I could dream of! It was extra long, extra funny, and had cool extra features! I loved every second of it!

McRhyme responds:

Great! I remade the trivia making it a bit easier. Yeah... The last question was wrong / Thanks to BEZ for pointing that out! /

You loved every second. Lets see... 8*60 is 480 minutes. 480*60 is hard... eh... 28800 seconds? Really? Seems a bit much, really.

You may remember me...

I'm a big fan of YTown Public!! This was a great parody/remake of the original classic YTown Public 1! Ah, nostalgia... YP has come far in so few months. I liked the musical twist to the remake/parody. You know, that theme song is starting to grow on me, before I know it, I may be humming it in school, and waking up with it stuck in my head! [do you play the guitar bits?]

McRhyme responds:

Yes, finally! Someone is hit by my guitar playing! Yes, I've made all the music. The theme song is kind of dark - Giving Ytown Public a deeper more serious feel than other cartoons. Da da dada daa da daaa! Kind of suggestive and emotional. It is true that Ytown Public is a pretty young series. I submitted YP#1 in November of 2001 That makes YP... 5 months old?

I really liked this one, just like all the other ones. I didn't really mind the file size, though. The 3D robot was really cool! The jokes, as always, were great, I laughed a lot :)
"It's just Barbara, now I peed on myself for no reason at all"
"Wow! I'm in heaven. Cool!"
Newton is really turning into another Kenny [South Park], isn't he!
I got full marks on the trivia, because I've watched all the YTown Publics, from the first day it arrived on The Portal!

McRhyme responds:

Yeah, Newton has a tendency of dying all the time. However in Ytown Public the explanation is that it is his evil clones who die - Okay. So the Newton has also died - In #3 when the Bear ate him. The real Newton was the one in the tank. I'm sure you know that. It must also have been the real Newton in Heaven as the other Newtons surely must have gone to Hell! HAHAHA! Or some other alien after-life. Yeppz. YP#6 will be up in a couple of days!

Glad you liked the 3D robot, it was really hard to make him fit in with the other drawn characters! I think the grass effect did the job.. never mind expert facts.
